Licensed Mechanic Position

Courtland is looking for a licensed Mechanic to join our Team in Tillsonburg, Ontario. The candidate is
required to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of vehicles including dump
trucks, heavy duty pickups, trailers and equipment (tractors, loaders, excavators, snow removal
equipment, salt spreaders, zero turns etc.). The candidate must be able to analyze, troubleshoot,
dismantle, assemble and adjust mechanical equipment and machinery to maintain it in efficient
operating condition. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, but it
is essential that the hired candidate be able to determine the nature and extent of needed repairs.

Position is full-time permanent, with some on-call duties during the winter season.

Requirements:
310S or 310T License required.
Completion of college/vocational or technical training.
Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
Proven mechanical abilities in heavy equipment, gas and diesel automotive repairs.
Knowledge and experience in electrical diagnostic and repair.
Hydraulic knowledge and experience.
Welding is an asset.
Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
Experience with routine maintenance operations.
Able to work well under pressure.
Strong attention to detail.
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.

Duties:
Provide vehicle troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs.
Installation of new and added-on equipment.
Conduct repairs, modifications on vehicles.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to equipment in order to ensure that the
equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate.
Accurate completion of work orders.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work (undercoating, washing, detailing, etc.).
Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations.
Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Other mechanical repair work as required.

Work Conditions:
24/7 availability may be required.
Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
Travel to off-site locations may be required.
Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
Overtime as required.

Hazards associated with the trade.
Work both indoors and outdoors.
May be exposed to construction sites.
